Food and Beverages

The food industries cover a series of activities aimed at the processing, conversion, preparation, preservation and packaging of food and beverages. It is a sector that has become highly diversified, with highly mechanized industrial processes. The machinery of this type of industry ranges from peeling machines, compressors, screws, pumps, packaging machines, boilers, conveyors, engines, generators and others. So many machines require constant attention, even more so that industries in this segment generally operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to remain competitive.

Maintenance departments in this segment generally adopt time-based maintenance programs, replacing rotating components after a predetermined period of operation or when a failure occurs. As the production of food and beverages is normally of high-volume and fast output, if a failure occurs, the cost of production downtime can quickly total tens or hundreds of thousands dolars.

To optimize maintenance work programming, reduce production downtime and assist to extend machine operating life, one of the most commonly used techniques is vibration monitoring.

That said, Dynamox vibration and temperature sensors can be important allies. Certified to operate in AEx Zone 0 and with an IP66/IP68 degree of protection, Dynamox sensors can work in humid environments, and can even be washed with water jets and operate at low temperatures. The sensors operate through a wireless system and continuously monitor the vibration and temperature of the most diverse components. With Dynamox sensors, it is possible to identify potential faults and act before a functional failure occurs, helping to extend component life, thus avoiding production downtime and corrective maintenance costs.
