Dynamox: national and international certifications

Many assets in the industry operate in extreme conditions, whether it’s temperature, dust, humidity, chemicals, remote areas or even zones with a risk of explosion. Even in these conditions, they need to perform at their best, especially since most of them are critical to the industry and prolonged downtime can cause huge losses.

Such assets are, of course, designed to work perfectly in these locations. However, monitoring them can be challenging and it can compromise the health and safety of technicians. In this scenario, wireless sensors are indispensable. This equipment not only avoids human exposure, but also provides more accurate and continuous data.

In order to offer a reliable solution that facilitates asset management and maintenance in all parts of the world, Dynamox has earned several certifications that attest to the quality of our solution.

Read more about the certifications we have obtained to feel even more confident about entrusting the monitoring of your assets to our sensors.

National certifications

INMETRO Ex certification

Ex certification indicates that the equipment is suitable for use in hazardous areas. It is recognized by Inmetro and granted to certify that certain equipment would not ignite and can therefore be installed in an area with a risk of explosion. In fact, every product certified for use in hazardous areas must be labeled with an indelible marking referring to its applicability.

Zone classification

There are classification zones where equipment can be installed. In other words, the plant’s classification is divided into zones 0, 1 and 2 for gases and 20, 21 and 22 for dust.

  • Zone 20 and 0: an area with continuous or prolonged explosive mixture.
  • Zone 21 and 1: an area where an explosive mixture is likely to form under normal operating conditions.
  • Zone 22 and 2: area where an explosive mixture is unlikely to occur and, if it does, it is for short periods or associated with abnormal operation of the equipment.

When a device is suitable for zone 20 and 0, it is labeled with the letter a. If it is prepared for zone 21 and 1, letter b, and for zone 22 and 2, letter c. This will determine the distance at which it should be installed, and the area of each zone will depend on the floor plan and the type of gas found in it.

It is important to understand that the explosion or combustion will depend on three factors:

  1. Ignition source: which can be electric sparks or the thermal effect (very high temperatures)
  2. Oxidizing material: oxygen, abundant in all environments
  3. Flammable or combustible substance: gas, vapor, combustible dust and combustible fiber

For this reason, the Ex certification not only takes into account the performance of the equipment in relation to the presence of gases, but also dust.

Protection against these elements is essential for some industrial plants, which is why Dynamox has developed its products to prepare them for installation in hazardous areas. Let’s take a look at our Ex certifications.

Sensor Certifications

The acronyms mean that our sensors are suitable for areas with explosive potential and can be installed in zone 20 and 0. They are thus fully protected against gases and dust, as well as high-temperature and high-pressure water jets. Check out the meaning of each acronym:

For gases:

  • Ex – Ex equipment certified for explosive atmospheres
  • ma – protected by encapsulation
  • IIB – group of gases (such as ethylene)
  • T6 – temperature range ≤ 85°C
  • Ga – suitable for installation in gas zone 0

For dust:

  • Ex – Ex equipment certified for explosive atmospheres
  • ta – protected against dust ingress
  • IIIC – dust group (conductive dust)
  • T6 – temperature class ≤ 85°C
  • Da – suitable for installation in zone 20

Gateways Certifications

In addition to sensors, Dynamox has a gateway that is also Ex certified. This guarantees greater safety for installation in plants with explosive potential.

Our equipment is also suitable for areas with explosive potential and can be installed in zones 22 and 2. This way, they are fully protected against dust as well as water jets. Check out the meaning of each acronym:

For gases:

  • Ex – Ex equipment certified for explosive atmospheres
  • ec – protected against gas ingress
  • IIC – group of gases (such as ethylene)
  • T6 – temperature range ≤ 85°C
  • Gc – suitable for installation in gas zone 2

For dust:

  • Ex – Ex equipment certified for environments where an explosive atmosphere is present
  • tc – protected against dust ingress
  • IIC – dust group (conductive dust)
  • T6 – temperature class ≤ 85°C
  • Dc – suitable for installation in dust zone 22

IP Degree of Protection

  • IP66 – IP (6) fully protected against dust ingress (6) protected against water jets

Operating temperature

  • Operating temperature range: from 0°C to 55°C

All these features make our products more resistant, offering precise sensing options in areas where few other devices are suitable for installation.

In addition to these certifications, our equipment has other mandatory national certifications, such as ANATEL.

ANATEL

All Dynamox equipment is certified by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). As such, the agency is responsible for overseeing and regulating products related to telecommunications in Brazil. This guarantees compliance with the standards defined for the long-distance communication sector.

Now that you know what our national certifications are, let’s learn about the international ones. Dynamox operates in several countries, which is why our solution has several certifications on practically every continent.

With this in mind, we develop our products to the highest quality standards so that they meet the requirements of the different countries in which we operate. Check them out:

International Certifications

In Brazil, Anatel is responsible for regulating telecommunications. And, just like here, each country establishes a body to regulate and supervise communication systems.

Currently, our equipment complies with international standards and is installed in different countries. Some examples are Australia (ACMA), Canada (IC), the United States (FCC) and the European Union (CE), among others.

We received the first international certifications in 2020. Read about it here: Dynamox obtains international certification.

What are ISO certifications?

Obtaining an ISO certification requires a thorough assessment that the company being analyzed meets all the required criteria. There are several ISO categories, and organizations can select the ones that suit their type of business. For example, there is the ISO 9000 series – related to quality management, or the standards starting with 27000 – which concern the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and so on.

Having an ISO certification means that the company has internal processes that guarantee high standards and respect for good practices in the area in question. For this reason, an organization can have several certifications, which attest to the high standard in different sectors of the organization.

Let’s learn a little more about the ISOs that Dynamox has obtained:

What is ISO 9001 for?

ISO 9001 is a type of Conformity Model. In other words, it sets the standards for the quality management system in an organization’s processes. This way, certified companies will always have the same quality in all their products and services. Thus, some of the criteria for implementing this certification are:

  • Standardization of processes involving the product.
  • Monitoring processes to ensure quality, establishing indicators, such as performance and failures, for example.
  • Process traceability.
  • Regular inspections and corrective actions.
  • Periodic review of established processes.
  • Documentation of all types of review, monitoring, inspection, correction and standardization actions within the company.

Thus, a certified company has an international quality management standard, ensuring greater security for customers regarding the standard of its products.

What is ISO 27001 for?

The standards of the ISO 27000 family are related to the Information Security Management System (ISMS). ISO 27001 is one of the best known and the first of the group. The concept of information security is based on three basic attributes: confidentiality, integrity and availability.

This certification, therefore, proves that the company follows an appropriate model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing and managing its ISMS. You can also read: ISO 27001: how to choose a reliable supplier (dynamox.net)

What is the importance of ISO 27018?

ISO 27018 relates to practices for protecting personal data in the public cloud. It aims to establish guidelines that regulate the control of the virtual storage environment. It also provides a set of additional controls and guidelines, in line with the privacy principles.

The standard aims to help the service provider meet the applicable obligations, as well as allowing the data processor to be transparent. This certification also aims to provide customers with a mechanism for exercising audit and compliance rights and responsibilities, thus making storage more secure, respecting the principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability.

What is ISO 27701 for?

This standard is an extension of ISO 27001, including data privacy controls. Thus, in addition to the controls provided by the Information Security Management System (ISMS), such as guaranteeing the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data, ISO 27701 also covers the issue of managing the privacy of personal data.

The certification attests that the company follows defined standards, minimizing the privacy risks related to personal data, whether in the relationship with the data controller or the data processor.

In addition to ISO and national and international certifications, Dynamox has RoHs – guaranteeing that our equipment does not contain hazardous substances above the limits specified in EU legislation.

What is RoHS (UE)?

The Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is a directive adopted in 2003 by the European Union that limits the presence of hazardous substances in the manufacturing process of products. These include cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers and, above all, lead. The aim is to prevent contamination of the environment and preserve human health at all stages of production: from manufacturing to disposal.

Dynamox has the RoHs seal. This means that our sensors meet the requirements and have less than 0.1% of these substances in their composition, making them safe for health and the environment.

The various certifications demonstrate Dynamox’s commitment to excellence and the constant quest to improve our services and products. If you’re looking for a complete monitoring solution and asset management tools, contact us! We have experts ready to help you make maintenance your greatest ally.
